🌞 The climate in Mexico depends on the area and altitude, but in general, it is warm and most of the country is always sunny. The average temperature in the coastal areas is around 89 °F throughout the year.

💸 The local currency in Mexico is the Mexican peso. 1 € is equivalent to approximately 20 Mexican pesos. The U.S. dollar is currently about the same as the euro. Because of its proximity to the United States, there are quite a few places in Mexico where they accept payments in dollars.

⌚ In Mexico there are 4 time zones, so it is very likely that you will have to change the time for short distances. Also, there are zones where they change daylight saving time and others where they do not

  • In Quintana Roo GMT - 5 applies all year round (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Sian Ka an Biosphere Reserve, and Isla Mujeres among others).
  • In the center of the country GMT - 6 and GMT -5 in summer. This time zone applies to most of the country. Chichen Itza is located in this zone, so if you move from Cancun to Chichen Itza, you will have to change the time, as long as it is not summer.
  • In the Pacific, GMT - 7 ( -6 in summer). 
  • In the Northwest, GMT - 8 (-7 in summer).
