📍 Piedra Villalba - The Section

The trip starts on Provincial Route Nº 15, entering Estancia Huyliche and then goes to Estancia 25 de Mayo Natural Reserve.

The first stop of our excursion is in an old stone shelter that tells the story of the first inhabitants of the region.

A little later we will head to La Sección. This is an ideal place to observe wildlife with binoculars and telescopes provided by the team.

From here, we will continue our journey to see herds of guanacos and other native animals. We will explore one of the most important fossil crab deposits in the world, a fossilized oyster reef and other formations containing fossil mammal remains approximately 15 million years old.

🌄 Mirador del Centinela Viewpoint

We will continue our route until we reach the Mirador del Centinela viewpoint, 4921 ft (1500 meters above sea level), this point offers breathtaking panoramic views.

🥩 Lunch or dinner in La Sección.

On the way back, we will stop again in La Sección to enjoy a typical lunch or dinner (depending on the selected option) in an authentic estancia post. The house has a living dining room, bathrooms and all the comforts for a little rest.

Once the tour is over, we will take you back to your accommodation in El Calafate around 2:00 pm. or 9_00 pm. (depending on your chosen time).
