Tour Cuyabeno Amazon 7 Days

Pick up in Lago Agrio

We will pick you up in Lago Agrio from where we will travel to the province of Sucumbios. We will arrive at El Puente, where we will stop for lunch and really start our adventure through the Amazon jungle. We will cross the Cuyabeno River by canoe to our lodge.

Cuyabeno lodge

During the tour we will have a first glimpse of the fauna and flora of Cuyabeno from the canoe. At the lodge, we will be met by our guide who will give us a brief briefing about the lodge and what our seven-day adventure in the Cuyabeno Reserve will be like.

Navigation and jungle hike

On our second day, we will navigate through the Laguna Grande, entering a flooded tropical rainforest. From the river we will be able to observe the great variety of birds and other animals such as monkeys or barizos, which inhabit the jungle. We will get off the boat and take a short walk to enjoy everything more closely.

Sunset and night walk

We will return to Laguna Grande after lunch and rest, to admire one of the wonders of the jungle, the sunset in Cuyabeno. Back at the lodge, we will take a night walk in the surrounding area in search of the wildlife that hides at night.

Camping in the Amazon

Today we will live the Amazon from the inside, enjoying one of the most authentic experiences you can have in Cuyabeno. We descend by canoe down the river bordering the mountain looking for a perfect place to camp. After lunch we will walk through the jungle in search of animals. In the evening, we will return for dinner and spend the night in the tents, enjoying being in the heart of the jungle.

Birds of Cuyabeno

We will walk through a forest with a great variety of animals such as herons, hawks, oropendolas and kingfishers. We will take the canoe and go along the lake of the Cuyabeno River in search of other birds such as toucans, parrots and hummingbirds. We will continue our adventure at night to look for caimans and other nocturnal animals. Today will certainly be a memorable day.

Shamanic house and local community

We board canoes along the Cuyabeno River until we reach the local communities where we will have the opportunity to buy their handicrafts . We will meet the shaman who will reveal to us the secrets of the jungle and its healing rituals.

Siona Cuisine

We will spend the afternoon with a local Siona family, who will teach us the whole process of preparing cassava bread. We will see how it is cooked in the jungle and the importance of cassava for them. We will return to the lodge for the night.

The activities of this day we plan them to our liking with the help of our guide. We will be able to do a variety of different activities such as a canoe paddling tour, jungle trekking or swimming in the Cuyabeno River.

Return to Lago Agrio

After a week in the jungle it is time to return to Lago Agrio. After breakfast we board the canoes to start our way back, as our 7 day Cuyabeno Tour will have come to an end. On the way back to the airport we will also stop for lunch.
