Tour itinerary
DAY 1 City of Iquitos - Transfer to the jungle lodge
Pick up in the city of Iquitos
If you arrive by plane, the guide will pick you up directly at the airport upon arrival. If you have stayed the night before in Iquitos, pick up will be between 8:00 and 10:00 am. The exact time will be given to you the day before, so you can have everything ready.

Transfer to the lodge
Together with the guide and other travelers, you will begin a journey of more than an hour to Nauta, on the only road in the area. This the only shared transfer while the rest of the tour excursions, lodging, etc. uses private service. Once in Nauta, you will head to the lodge. During this journey you'll pass by the point where the Ucayali and Marañon Rivers converge, forming the Amazon River.
Throughout the journey you'll notice how the ecosystem around you changes as you enter the jungle. It is also a perfect time to discuss with the guide all the available activities and meet other travelers in the common areas of the lodge, such as the dining room and hammock room.

Arrival at the lodge in the jungle of Iquitos.
Upon arrival at the lodge you will settle into your room, depending on your schedule lunch is offered or an activity. The adventure begins!
🐬 Swimming with pink dolphins.
One of the first activities is usually a boat ride, so you get to know the area around the lodge and swim for the first time in the Amazon. During sunset, the sky changes color and the pink dolphins are more active, so you are very likely to see them peeking out.
After dinner, if you feel like it, you can take another excursion, or simply enjoy the sounds of the jungle from the comfort of your private room or from the hammock room, the highest area of the lodge, where the gentle wind offers respite from the heat of the Amazon.

DAY 2 Iquitos jungle
🌿 Jungle hike
Breakfast is usually served early because during these days you will adapt to the cycle of the sun. After breakfast, start the second day with a jungle hike. For your safety and comfort, you will wear rubber boots that will be given to you at the lodge. The guide will take you through areas he knows well and show you the Amazonian nature in all its splendor.
🐒 Bird and monkey watching
At the end of the jungle walk you will return to the lodge for lunch and rest, you will notice that the heat and humidity will affect you and you may feel more tired. After lunch and some rest in the hammocks or in your room, you'll go on a boat trip to see monkeys and birds. The guide will take you to areas where groups of monkeys are usually found, some of them are very curious and come close to the boat.

🐊 Night boat expedition to see caimans.
Return to the lodge, go for a sunset swim, eat dinner, and experience the last excursion of the day. Your guide has probably amazed you with his ability to see animals and his deep knowledge of the ecosystem. You just might have your mind blown. From the boat and with a guiding light, he will illuminate areas with vegetation where the caimans like to hide. The reflection of the light in the eyes of the caimans is what tells the guide where they are, and he directs the boat to that area to see them up close. Quite an adventure!

DAY 3 Iquitos jungle
🎣 Piranha fishing
After breakfast at the lodge, head back to the boat to continue discovering the Iquitos jungle. Remember that dubious fish we have seen in many movies? You'll have the chance to see it and fish for piranhas!
🌙 Night walk to see nocturnal animals
After a sunset that turns the sky orange, you'll enjoy dinner at the lodge. We take this opportunity to tell you that the food served is traditional Amazonian, you may be surprised how delicious and varied it is. The last night's outing is usually a walk around the lodge to discover nocturnal insects.

DAY 4 Iquitos jungle - Return to the city of Iquitos
🛶 Boat ride
Last day in the jungle! Wake up early for breakfast and depart to meet the sounds of the morning jungle, a time with lots of animal activity before the sweltering heat takes over. The flora of the Amazon is amazing, but the Amazonian Victorias, giant water lilies, seem to come from another planet.
📍 Return to the city of Iquitos.
Last meal at the lodge, after saying goodbye to the guide and all the team that has taken care of you over these past four days, you will start the return by boat to Iquitos, putting an end to this authentic adventure.
