DAY 1 Cusco - Village of Upis - Upis Hot Springs
Difficulty: Medium
Distance: 4.97 miles (8 km)
Maximum altitude: 15,255 feet (4,650 meters) above sea level.
Pick up in Cuzco
The Ausangate Trek 4 Days will start with the pick up at our hotel in Cuzco at 5.30 am in the morning and we will head to the village of Upis. The trek will be done by bus and will last 3 hours. The hike begins with a gentle uphill trail, which we will take for about 3 hours to reach the lunch and camping site. The route crosses a picturesque valley of the highlands, where we will see herds of llamas and alpacas, ideal for taking pictures.

⛺Camping.
Upon arrival at the camp near the Upis hot springs at 15,256 feet, we will enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you may opt for a soak in the hot springs or take a walk in the area to watch the sunset over Ausangate. Both lunch and dinner will be provided during the day.

DAY 2 Upis Hot Springs - Puka Qocha
Difficulty: High
Distance: 7.46 miles (12 km)
Maximum altitude: 15,748 feet (4,799 meters) above sea level.
Yana Qocha
The hike to the second camp, surrounded by lakes, glaciers and towering peaks, will begin at dawn with a cup of hot coca tea. After getting organized, we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast before ascending the winding road to the Arapa pass, at 15,748 feet, where we will enjoy spectacular views of the Andean landscape. Then, we will descend for 1 hour and 30 minutes to a lunch spot next to the Yana Qocha glacier lake, with the majestic Ausangate mountain in the background.

⛺Puka Qocha Camp.
After lunch, we will hike for 2 hours through a mountainous plain until we reach the Puka Qocha camp, near the Ausangate mountain and its glacial lakes. There, you will observe the impressive collision of ice with the lakes. At sunset, the sky will offer spectacular views of the Milky Way for photo opportunities. All meals will be provided during the adventure.

DAY 3 Puka Qocha - Qomer Qocha
Difficulty: High
Distance: 6.84 miles (11 km)
Maximum altitude: 16,404 feet (4,999 meters) above sea level.
Ananta
We will begin a scenic day hike to Rainbow Mountain. We will ascend a steep trail to the second pass at 4,999 meters above sea level, where we enjoy spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and highland valleys with red hills. We will then descend into the valley and hike uphill to the lunch spot, Ananta, surrounded by breathtaking views of the valley.
⛺Qomer Qocha Camp.
After lunch, we ascend for 2 hours to Warmisaya Pass, from where breathtaking views, including the famous Rainbow Mountain, can be seen. Then, we descend for 30 minutes to Qomer Qocha camp.

DAY 4 Qomer Qocha - 7-color mountain - Red Valley - Cusco
Difficulty: Medium to High
Distance: 3.73 miles (6 km)
Maximum altitude: 16,500 feet (5,030 meters) above sea level.
Rainbow Mountain
We will start the day with a 1 hour and 30 minute hike to Rainbow Mountain, where we will enjoy its beauty. Then, we will continue to Red Valley, a fascinating place with views of valleys, mountains and reddish hills. At both destinations, we will have time to admire and immerse ourselves in the breathtaking scenery.

Return to Cusco
At the end of the adventure, we will descend for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the end of the trail, where we will say goodbye to the muleteers and the cook. Then, we will take the transport back to Cusco, remembering the unforgettable experiences and landscapes of the Ausangate Trek 4 Days.
