At the agreed time, we will pick you up from your chosen location and head into the heart of Iceland, specifically to the Fjallabak Nature Reserve, where you will witness the breathtaking beauty of Landmannalaugar. The drive will take approximately 3 hours, offering incredible views of some of Iceland’s most remote areas.
Stop in Hella
At 8:45 AM, the 4x4 will stop in Hella. If you are starting the tour in Hella, please arrive at the Bus Stop - Olís Petrol/Gas Station 10-15 minutes before departure to avoid delays. You can also get off the minibus for a quick last-minute purchase of food or drinks.

Landmannalaugar Base Camp - Beginning of the trek
Upon arrival, you’ll begin a 5-hour round-trip hike through some of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes. As you trek, you’ll be surrounded by vibrant, colorful mountains, shaped by volcanic activity, along with hot springs, lava fields, and stunning rivers—perfect for capturing on camera!
Your guide will also share fascinating insights about this lesser-known region and explain how the majestic mountains surrounding the reserve were formed. It’s an experience that will leave you in awe!

Landmannalaugar
As you walk, you’ll discover some of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks, including the stunning Grænagil Canyon, Lake Ljótipollur, and the vibrant rhyolite mountains towering over the lava fields of Laugahraun, Hrafntinnuhraun, and Namshraun, among many other natural wonders.
Don’t worry if you start to feel a bit tired—the guide will make short stops along the way, allowing you to catch your breath and fully appreciate the breathtaking scenery.

Landmannalaugar Hot Springs
After three hours of hiking, we’ll take a longer stop where you can rest, enjoy a snack, and have a drink. You’ll have plenty of time to snap pictures and take in the fresh air, all while marveling at this natural masterpiece.
Then, we’ll continue with a short walk until we reach the natural hot springs. This will be your moment of relaxation, where you can soak in the warm waters while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit and towel!

Return to Reykjavik
After an hour of relaxing in the hot springs, it will be time to head back to Reykjavik. On the way, we’ll pass near Mount Hekla, one of Iceland's most active volcanoes. According to legend, it was once considered the gateway to hell, and its tendency to erupt still makes it a place of awe and fear.
After about 3 hours on the road, we’ll drop you off at the same meeting point in Reykjavik where we picked you up. We hope you had an incredible time experiencing this amazing Icelandic adventure!
